River Side Park / Kondoa

The River Side Park is a small paradise in a well-tended garden surrounded by baobab trees on the quiet outskirts of Kondoa and is the only comfortable accommodation in the less touristy region for visiting the overhanging rock paintings of Kolo, Fenga, Thawi and Pahi.

The 268 km from Arusha via Babati, Gendi, Bonga, Bereko and Kolo to Kondoa through impressive landscapes takes around 4 hours. In Babati there is the possibility to explore the lake with an authentic wooden boat.

The simple and friendly accommodation is managed and managed by the local population with the help of the church under ecological conditions.
The family atmosphere of the River Side Park can already be seen at the reception with a friendly reception with a cool refreshing drink. The staff is very attentive and always takes care of their guests.

The in-house restaurant with a large selection of drinks serves good and rich food with regional ingredients from its own cultivation and the adjacent fish and animal breeding. The River Side Park restaurant is also very popular with the local population.

Dinner is taken in the beautiful garden with candlelight under a clear starry sky. Upon request, delicious fresh coffee is served in the room after waking up. There is also a hearty breakfast with various selections freshly prepared and served.

The 16 rustic rooms are located in newly built massive guest houses and are equipped with a comfortable double bed, satellite TV, mosquito net, desk, tea and coffee and tea making facilities, as well as their own bathroom, shower, sink and toilet.

Due to the good location in Kondoa, the unknown and mostly underestimated attraction of Tanzania (UNESCO World Heritage since 2006) with its impressive, artistic and fascinating "red paintings" by Fenga, Thawi, Kolo and the lively and varied pictures of the "white paintings" “To be visited by Pahi.

The most visited rock paintings (Kondoa Rock Arts Paintings) are those of Kolo and easy to reach in 30min from River Side Park. For the visit, an additional park guide is required, which reports on the origin and history of the rock paintings.
