We at Ndoto Safari Ltd. wholeheartedly support a social project (treatment centre/hospital) in Karatu/Tanzania and would like to briefly introduce it to you.
The treatment centre/hospital is kept running exclusively by private donations, the Christian community and volunteers - without any government aid. The attending volunteer doctor at the centre - which focuses on treating minor injuries in the rural population, as well as malaria prevention, detection and treatment - is Daktari (Doctor) Simon Gwandu. We have come to know Mr Simon Gwandu as a committed, conscientious and competent head of the treatment centre and have been happy to support his work with full conviction ever since.
As a result of the work in Karatu, malaria infections have been reduced by around 50% in the last 3 years. Thanks to the worldwide support, the hospital has now been able to expand its treatment rooms and now also has an electron microscope for the rapid detection of diseases on site.
And even a small donation can make a big difference there - for example, there are not enough malaria tests, which cost $1 each and can save lives.
A stop is obligatory every time we pass through and there is always great joy on both sides. Recently, a German dentist who visited the treatment centre during a safari and brought some equipment with him was enthusiastic about the project and we are now planning regular visits from dentists from Germany.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has decided to donate to the treatment centre/hospital in Karatu in Tanzania.
If you wish, we can also plan a visit to the Karatu treatment centre during your safari so that you can see the work being done there for yourself.
