Individual arrival and arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport "Karibu Tanzania" - Welcome to Tanzania. After completing the customs and immigration formalities (application for a visa of US$ 50 can be done online in advance), you will be warmly welcomed by your personal guide (driver Malley Simon Gwandu) with refreshments at Kilimanjaro Airport. Transfer to Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, to your booked hotel and time to relax from the journey. On the drive (approx. 1 hour) to your booked accommodation, you can get your first impressions of the area and its inhabitants of fascinating Tanzania.
We will have lunch (or dinner if arriving later) at a typical Tanzanian restaurant "Andrew's" with freshly prepared ugali (cornmeal porridge) and grilled kuku or mbuzi (chicken or goat) and then strengthened at the famous Clock Tower in Drive past Arusha and reach the newly built boutique hotel Kahawa House. After a hearty breakfast we make our way to Tarangire National Park, which is considered one of the most beautiful and popular national parks in Tanzania. During our first game drives you will have the opportunity to see zebras, giraffes, warthogs (pumba) and various gazelle species. The park covers an area of 2,600 km² and is crossed by the Tarangire River, which offers a picturesque backdrop of wetlands and extensive tree savannas.

Tarangire National Park is famous for its impressive African baobab trees and the dramatic interactions between predators and prey along the waterways along the river, which also host small-scale wildlife migrations of their own. Here you can see elephants, eland, gemsbok, lesser kudu and many more species.
The Tarangire National Park is also known for its tree-climbing pythons and a variety of over 400 bird species, including the widespread hornbill, partridges, pelicans, eagles, vultures and several species of herons. Since Tarangire National Park has a high animal population all year round, it is very likely that you will encounter lions. We stay overnight right in the national park at Tarangire Safari Lodge, which offers a unique location and spectacular views of the Tarangire River. A freak of nature in Tarangire NP "Leoparden-Zebra" After breakfast another highlight of your safari tour awaits you, we drive with packed lunch from Tarangire National Park via the village of Mto Wa Mbu (meaning: the mosquito river) where we will taste the unique "Red Bananas" with their sweet and delicate taste. We continue through Karatu into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and over the 600 meter high rim of the 1,700 meter high Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the eighth wonder of the world. We stop at the viewpoint of the crater and you can take a look inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After a short photo stop at the tomb of the famous Professor Bernhard Grzimek and his son Michael. (Founder of the Frankfurt Zoo and savior of the Serengeti with the Oscar-winning film “The Serengeti Shall Not Die”). Enjoy the game drive on the way to your booked lodge with its Maasai-style round huts in the middle of the Serengeti and more days in the Serengeti National Park.

During your game drive through the Serengeti, your experienced guide will lead you to the preferred areas of the wildlife. Here you can hear the mesmerizing sounds of the savannah, accompanied by the calls of birds and the roar of lions. The air is filled with the scents of wildflowers and earth, even more fragrant after the rain.
You will witness impressive hunting scenes from big cats like the majestic leopard, the regal lion and the agile cheetah. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Covering over 8,000 square kilometers, the area offers an incredible variety of wildlife and landscapes.
The crater rim is at an altitude of 2,300 meters and offers a spectacular view of the crater surrounded by sheer walls with a height of 400 to 600 meters. The crater is home to some of the world's rarest and most impressive wildlife, including black rhino, prides of lions, buffalo, antelope and blue wildebeest. Hippos, zebras and many other wild animals can also be observed here.
Your accommodation, the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, where we will spend two nights, offers a unique view of the crater and its breathtaking landscape. View from the rim of the crater to the breathtaking sceneryPrepare for an unforgettable safari experience as today you will visit the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. Often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, this spectacular attraction is home to approximately 30,000 wild animals. We will start early and descend the switchbacks of the crater rim to reach the 20 kilometer wide crater floor located 600 meters below the rim.
On your daysafari you will see a variety of animals including prides of lions, bat-eared foxes, jackals, zebras and hippos. Flamingos and a variety of waterfowl frolic in the lakes in the crater. And don't forget the famous black rhino that make their home here. During your safari you will also have the opportunity to explore the lake district and open savanna where you can see large herds of wildebeest and predator-hungry lions.
Lunch will be a picnic amidst the scenic backdrop of the crater, with a view of the hippos in the water. An experience not to be missed. In the late afternoon we will return to Serena Safari Lodge to admire the unique view of the crater at sunset. Enjoy the warm hospitality and reflect on the day.
