This comfortable and privately guided safari round trip (for 2 persons) through the wild east of Tanzania is the perfect combination of safari adventure with experiences around Kilimanjaro, culture and traditions of the Maasai and a bathing stay on the beautiful sandy beach in Pangani and shows the versatility of Tanzania .

We always have the 5,895 meter high majestic Kilimanjaro with its snow-capped peaks in view and dive deep into the traditions and culture of the Maasai. The Arusha National Park attracts with its landscape forms and a species-rich flora and fauna and is one of the most beautiful and varied nature reserves in Tanzania. On our day safari we will visit some spectacular vantage points with beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro and drive through the park's landmark, the "Fig Tree Arch" a strangler fig tree.

We experience the wildly romantic Mkomazi National Park with its incomparably beautiful and dramatic landscape that offers an almost private safari experience with guaranteed encounters with the rare wild dogs and black rhino. To relax after the first intense safari adventure, drive to Pangani to the white powdered sands of Ushongo Beach and enjoy the crystal clear turquoise Indian Ocean.

Afterwards you will visit the relatively unknown Mikumi National Park, from which legend has it that the African researchers and explorers “Dr. Livingstone” and “John H. Speke” were impressed by the imposing beauty of the landscape while crossing. The Mikumi National Park is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and was founded in 1964 and is also known as the "little Serengeti of the South" due to its high animal population.

Your safari round trip takes you to the Julius Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous National Park), which today is one of the largest nature reserves in the world. In 1982, the Nyerere National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and placed under special protection because of its uniqueness. The heart of the Nyerere National Park with its beautiful landscape is the great Rufiji River where you will experience an unforgettable boat safari and it is home to over a million wild animals with unique species that can only be found there. In the enchanting Nyerere National Park of Tanzania you can still feel the original wilderness up close and feel transported back to the days of big game hunters.
You will also experience the pulsating and typically African metropolis of Dar es Salaam with its full life and its multitude of sights.

This is an example of an already planned safari - of course we are happy to put together your own personal and individual trip!

The architecture of the Kaliwa Lodge in the Bauhaus style is unique in Tanzania and was planned and implemented by German engineers.

The design boutique hotel with its cube-like buildings with a clear design language and lots of glass elements as well as the functional Bauhaus architecture is unusual and is almost a travel destination in itself. The Kaliwa Lodge with its cozy bungalows is surrounded by lush rainforest and numerous banana trees, eucalyptus trees and offers fantastic views of the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro, and it also blends perfectly into the green garden with palm trees. Tag 9 - 10: Mikumi National Park

After breakfast a longer drive awaits you from Pangani, Mkata, Chalinze via Morogoro to Mikumi National Park where we will spend two days on game drives. On the way you will already be able to observe the first animals in Mikumi.

In the afternoon we reach the park entrance and will do more game drives in the Mikumi National Park.
The relatively unknown Mikumi National Park is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and was established in 1964. The Mikumi National Park is also known as the "small Serengeti of the South" due to its high animal population and gives a good impression of the African wildlife of Tanzania. Occasional sightings of the rare African wild dog are even possible.

According to legends, explorers and explorers like “Dr. Livingstone" and "John H. Speke" enthusiastic about the imposing beauty of the landscape while crossing. Mikumi National Park borders the northern border of Africa's largest game reserve - Julius Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous NP) - and is traversed by the paved road between Dar es Salaam and Iringa. It is thus the most accessible part of a 75,000 square kilometer wilderness area that stretches east almost to the Indian Ocean.

Mikumi's popular focal point, the open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Flood Plains draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Lions survey their grassy kingdom - and the herds of zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo that roam overhead - from the flat-topped peaks of termite mounds or, sometimes, during the rains, from tall branches in the trees. Giraffes forage in the isolated stands of acacia trees bordering the Mkata River, shady islands also favored by Mikumi's elephants.

After the safari in Mikumi National Park we drive to the Vuma Hills Tented Camp and will have dinner there and meet bush babies and, with a bit of luck, see the nocturnal porcupines. The beautiful Vuma Hills Tented Camp is managed by the well-known Fox Safari Group, which runs various lodges and camps in Tanzania. Pleasant and stylish, Vuma Hills Tented Camp with its 16 elegant tented cottages sits enthroned with its palm thatched roofs above the treetops on a hilltop nestled in the forests of the Vuma Mountains. The next day further game drives in the Mikumi National Park. Meals (B, LB/L, D = FB) and accommodation at Vuma Hills Tented Camp

Tag 11 - 13: Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous)

After breakfast we drive to the stunning Nyerere National Park which we reach in the late afternoon. Enjoy the time in the luxurious Rufiji River Camp and observe the hippos, crocodiles and many other wildlife from the terrace of your accommodation. In the afternoon we will experience an extraordinary boat safari (included) on the large Rufiji River and enjoy the beautiful sunset there. In the following days we will embark on game drives around the Rufiji River and observe many wild animals in this unique landscape. In the afternoon, the lodge's swimming pool can also be used to relax and cool off.

In the enchanting Nyerere National Park of Tanzania you can still feel the original wilderness up close and feel transported back to the days of big game hunters in the luxurious Rufiji River Camp with unforgettable impressions and unique memories. The Julius Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous National Park) in Tanzania is the largest game reserve in Africa with an incredible 51,500 km2 and is home to over a million wild animals.

The game reserve was partially protected by the German governor under the colonial government as early as 1896 and is now one of the largest nature reserves in the world. In 1982, the Nyerere National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and placed under special protection because of its uniqueness.

In the Julius Nyerere National Park you can also follow the traces of German colonial history, such as the leader of the German Schutztruppe Lettow-Vorbeck in the last battle in the Beho-Beho area against Frederick Courteney Selous, who unfortunately died here from a ricochet. The tomb of adventure and big game hunter "Frederick Counteny Selous" can be visited in the Beho-Beho area.

Nyerere National Park borders Mikumi National Park to the north and allows for a rich wildlife along the mighty Rufiji River. In the wild and romantic Nyerere National Park, 15% of the total area is open to tourists for game drives, photo safaris and wildlife observation. Nyerere National Park with its acacia forests is home to large herds of blue wildebeest, Burchell's zebra, lion, red hartebeest, greater and lesser kudu, warthog, hyena, giraffe, waterbuck, reedbuck, impala, giant galago and many other wildlife and bird species, as well as 30% of elephants and 60% of the very rare African wild dogs and with a bit of luck you will meet one of the few black rhinos in Tanzania.

The heart of the Nyerere National Park with its dreamlike landscape is formed by the large Rufiji River and this divides the Nyerere National Park into two areas and influences the national park so strongly during floods that it resembles the area of the Okavango Delta of Botswana. Countless hippos and crocodiles can be seen up close on a boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. Meals (B, LB/L, D = FB) and accommodation at Rufiji River Camp
