Individual arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport “Karibu Tanzania” – Welcome to Tanzania. After completing the customs and immigration formalities (application for a visa of US$ 50 can be done online in advance) you will be welcomed by your personal guide (driver Malley Simon Gwandu/English-speaking) with refreshments at Kilimanjaro Airport.
Transfer to Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, to your booked hotel and time to relax from the journey. On the drive (approx. 1 hour) to your booked accommodation, you can get your first impressions of the area and its inhabitants of fascinating Tanzania. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax by the gorgeous swimming pool at the most exclusive hotel in Arusha. After breakfast we drive through Maasai country to Tarangire National Park and there we will do our first game drives. Look forward to animal observations with zebras, giraffes, warthogs (Pumba) and various species of gazelles. Tarangire National Park is one of the most popular and beautiful national parks in Tanzania. The heart of the park is the Tarangire River, which also forms the landscape with swamps and extensive tree savannahs of the large park (2,600 square meters the size of Luxembourg). We will have our lunch (lunch) close to nature in Tarangire National Park, followed by further game drives in the afternoon.
Tarangire National Park is known for its abundance of distinctive and impressive African baobab trees (baobab trees) and for the dramatic interactions between predators and prey along the riverine streams of Tarangire National Park with its own small migratory movements of wildlife within the park. In Tarangire National Park, elephants, eland, gemsbok, lesser kudu and many other animal species can be observed. Another special feature of the national park are the tree-climbing pythons and over 400 bird species such as the widespread hornbill, partridges, pelicans, eagles, vultures and various types of herons. Due to the year-round high animal population, there is also a large number of lions here, which makes an encounter very likely. Today after breakfast with packed lunch we drive via Mto Wa Mbu village where we will taste the unique “Red Bananas” with their sweet and tender taste to day tours in Lake Manyara National Park with its dense vegetation and dramatic location at the foot of a 600m high towering plateau , the bird paradise of East Africa and the home of the so-called "Tree Lions". Lake Manyara with its 330 km² is a mineral lake located in the Rift Valley and Ernest Hemingway was already fascinated by its unique beauty and described it with his words "The most beautiful thing I have ever seen in Africa". The Hollywood classic "Hatari" with John Wayne and Hardy Krüger was filmed in the plains of the national park.
In addition to the diverse landscapes such as jungle, swamp and open savannah, there is also an abundance of wildlife to be found, including water buffalo, giraffe, zebra, elephant, impala, hippo, warthog, baboon, vervet monkey and over 400 different bird species such as Lesser Flamingos, bustards, pelicans and ibises , egrets, spoonbills, storks, Egyptian geese or the conspicuous hornbill.
On request we visit the hot "springs Maji Moto Ndogo" where the earth's crust is extremely thin due to the rift valley and over 40° Celsius hot water with sulfur vapors escapes. There is also the option of taking a 500m long "Canopy Walk" over the treetops in Lake Manyara National Park and experiencing nature from a new perspective. After breakfast, the next highlight of your safari tour through Tanzania awaits you. We drive with packed lunches to Karatu and over the 600 meter high crater rim of the 1,700 high Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the eighth wonder of the world. We stop at the viewpoint of the crater from where you can take a look inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Short photo stop at the tomb of the famous Professor Bernhard Grzimek and his son Michael. (Founder of the Frankfurt Zoo and savior of the Serengeti with the Oscar-winning film “The Serengeti Shall Not Die”). We continue over the crater rim through the Maasai area past the Olduvai plain "cradle of mankind" (optional) to the park entrance of the Serengeti. The Serengeti with its wide plains and constant migration of animals, this name fires the imagination and invites the visitor to dream. Enjoy the game drive on the way to your booked beautiful lodge with its Maasai-style round huts in the middle of the Serengeti and more days in the Serengeti National Park. In order to spend a lot of time in the Serengeti observing various animals, we will probably take our lunch packs with us for the next few days and will eat them close to nature in the Serengeti National Park.

Today we will go on extensive game drives in the breathtaking Serengeti with its endless expanses and the impressive landscape with acacia trees and granite kopjes. We will take our picnic lunch and spend the whole day on game drives in the beautiful Serengeti National Park.
Your experienced guide knows the landscape and the preferred territories of the wild animals. Discover and experience hunting scenes of big cats such as leopards, lions and cheetahs and observe the numerous herds of blue wildebeest and zebra. We meet the numerous eland, Grant's gazelle, impala, thorny antelope, Hartebeest, buffalo, warthog, spotted hyena, giraffe, ostrich and jackal as well as the serval and genet and many other wild animals.

Optional: On day 5 there is the possibility of a balloon safari in the Serengeti! An unforgettable adventure (US$599 pp). After breakfast, another day of game drives and tracking in the Serengeti is on the agenda. The Serengeti can be visited all year round and the animals reside in the different corridors of the Serengeti depending on the season. Every day on a game drive in the Serengeti always brings new exciting and unforgettable experiences and also offers a diverse bird life with over 500 species.
In the evening hours we drive to the Hippo Pool with its large number of hippos and Nile crocodiles, as these are the most active in the evening hours for beautiful photo opportunities and further animal observations in the Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, another game drive with animal observations at the exit (approx. 3 hours) of the Serengeti with a packed lunch and onward journey through the beautiful landscape in the Maasai region in the direction of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to your beautiful accommodation on the crater rim. Nicknamed the "Eighth Wonder of the World," Ngorongoro Crater covers over 250 square kilometers of land (the size of Berlin).
The crater rim is 2,300 meters high and is dominated by the steep crater walls with their 400 to 600 meters and is home to the rare black rhino (black rhino), prides of lions and large herds of buffalo, antelope and blue wildebeest.

After breakfast we start our spectacular safari on the switchbacks over the crater rim down to the crater floor 600 meters below. We will spend the whole day on game drive in the 20 km diameter Ngorongoro Crater with its incomparable scenery and its own microcosm.
You will explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site with its unique sanctuary with its estimated 30,000 wild animals, also known as the "Noah's Ark" of the world. On our safari in the Ngorongoro Crater we visit the lake area with its numerous flamingos and the open savannah where large herds of wildebeest are regularly found and where lions hunt for food and we try to get very close to the black rhino.
The picnic lunch is served close to nature right in the crater with a view of the hippos. An unforgettable and unique experience. After breakfast, unfortunately, it's already time to say goodbye. We drive from Karatu to Arusha and will remember the exciting experiences of the safari in the popular restaurant "Andrews" with a meal together with freshly grilled goat, chicken or the traditional dish ugali (maize porridge).
Since this is the last day of your journey in beautiful Tanzania after your safari tour, we will accompany you after lunch to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight in the afternoon with unforgettable impressions and countless stories in our luggage. Meals (B/L)
