The Mbozi meteorite (also known as the "Mbosi meteorite") in Mbeya is also said to have a healing effect in traditional rituals if you drink the stored water in the holes of the Mbozi meteorite.
A further excursion in the region around Mbeya is a hike to the 2,818 m high "Mbeya Peak" or to "Ngozi Crater Lake" as well as a day safari beyond tourist paths in the "Kitulo National Park" with its unique flora, particularly in the Rainy season from December to April impressed with its play of colors from wildflowers, orchids and wildflowers. Ornithologists will also enjoy the variety of bird species.

Also fascinating are the colorful hot springs (maji moto) close to the delightful river valley and a visit to the bat caves (pango la popo) near Songwe. You can also visit the Marasusa and Kaporogwe waterfalls and the Bridge of God (Daraja la Mungu), a naturally created bridge made from a cooled lava flow with an adjacent small waterfall.
