We have put together this special safari for nature lovers and history buffs who are looking for the extraordinary. We embark on chimpanzee tracking in the smallest and most exclusive national park. Only a small number of guests (approx. 350 a year) visit the most remote and untouched national park in Tanzania. On our wonderful trip to the GOMBE Stream National Park by Dr. Jane Goodall witness the sunrise over the picturesque Lake Tanganyika.
Our program for those interested in history includes a visit to the “Kigoma Railway Station” of the Central Line Train from the German colonial era and the tiny Ujiji with its stone monument with the adjacent “Livingstone Memorial Museum”. After years of searching, the journalist and researcher Henry Morton Stanley met the famous researcher Dr. Livingstone together. There, under the two mango trees, the search for the two African researchers ended with the world-famous phrase "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
If possible and on request, Ndoto Safari Ltd. organizes an exclusive and unique personal tour with the current captain "Titus" about the world-famous (The African Queen) MV Liemba (former Graf Götzen) also referred to as "the old lady" on which you can experience and feel over 100 years of history.
Individual arrival from Arusha / Kilimanjaro as an individual safari extension or alternatively as a short trip at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam (DAR). There your personal driver awaits you with refreshments (Omari / English speaking) for the transfer, depending on the traffic situation about 35 minutes in your booked hotel or with early arrival there is the possibility of visiting the sights of Dar es Salaam. Your personal driver will gladly show you the sights of Dar es Salaam and the surrounding area. Dinner (D) and overnight at Southern Sun / Dar es Salaam

Transfer (5 km) from Kigoma Airport (TKQ) for lunch and rest in your beautifully located hotel with spectacular views of Lake Tanganyika.
In the afternoon you drive to the small town of Ujiji, which is only 8 km away from Kigoma. Ujiji owes his fame to the encounter in 1871 between the journalist and researcher Henry Morton Stanley and the famous researcher Dr. Livingstone. At this point, the long-term search on behalf of an English publisher under the two mango trees was completed with the world-famous phrase "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" We visit the historic site with its stone monument with the offshoots of the original mango trees and the adjacent "Livingstone Memorial Museum" with exhibited historical documents, artifacts and prints on the East African slave trade and a reenactment of the famous encounter scene of the two African naturalists.
Then we go on a search for traces of the German colonial era and we stop at the old station, the terminus of the Central Line Train "Kigoma Railway Station" and the "Kaiser House" that was built for the German Emperor. Meals (B, L, D) and accommodation at Kigoma Hilltop Hotel
Today is the highlight with the chimpanzee tracking on the program. You visit the smallest and most exclusive park of Tanzania with its well habituated chimpanzee population due to the longtime work of Dr. Jane Goodall. The drive to the park entrance of the Gombe Stream National Park is about 2 hours and we start early in the morning around 6:00 to experience the sunrise on Lake Tanganyika. In addition, we would like to reach the park early because the chimpanzees are active in the morning for food intake. Enjoy the drive in the boat from the Tanzania National Parks Authority over the crystal-clear Lake Tanganyika and let the lakeshore with its idyllic villages and the shore of the beach where baboons already pass by.
After you have reached the park (Kasakela) with its pebble beach, a briefing by your guide follows the special rules of conduct in Gombe NP *. You walk a short distance along the coastline and then turn left into the tropical rainforest of Gombe NP. You follow your ranger through the dense rainforest over partly rocky and steep slopes in search of the chimpanzees. The Gombe Stream National Park is home to the chimpanzees as the main attraction and other primates such as red colobus, diadem and green monkeys and occasionally can be seen white-necked hussar monkeys.
The Gombe NP also includes bush hogs, civet and genus cats, Anubis baboons and many species of butterflies. On your hike you pass the idyllic Kakombe waterfall, which is a welcome refreshment. In the afternoon you return to your hotel in Kigoma. Delicious dinners overlooking the coast of the Danube Congo let you reflect on your past experiences. Meals (B, L/L, D) and accommodation at Kigoma Hilltop Hotel
After breakfast, before your domestic flight to Dar es Salaam or for your further individual safari extension, you can request a visit to the floating legends, the "MV Liemba". (Prerequisite: MV Liemba is anchored in the port of Kigoma or anchored for maintenance and repair work). Experience the special and extraordinary with Ndoto Safari. Such experiences can only be offered to you and no other tour operator. Because of our personal relationships and local contacts in Kigoma, a personal leadership of the current captain Benjamin Mnyanyi "Titus" of M.V. Liemba be organized. The MV Liemba (1.300t) has a unique history and is also known as the former "Graf Götzen" and is the only passenger ship on Lake Tanganyika.
