Vuma Hills Tented Camp / Mikumi National Park

The very stylish Vuma Hills Tented Camp is located southwest of the Mikumi National Park in a wonderfully elevated position with a wide view of the Mkate Plain and the endless wilderness. In the Vuma Hills Tented Camp you can experience an unadulterated nature experience in seclusion with an authentic African safari atmosphere.

The relatively unknown Mikumi Nationalpark is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and was established in 1964. The Mikumi Nationalpark is also known as the "small Serengeti of the south" due to its high animal population and gives a good impression of the African fauna of Tanzania. Occasional sightings of the rare African wild dog are possible. According to the legends, Africa explorers and explorers such as “Dr. Livingstone ”and“ John H. Speke ”were thrilled by the imposing beauty of the landscape as they crossed.

The beautiful Vuma Hills Tented Camp is managed by the well-known Fox Safari Group, which runs various lodges and camps in Tanzania.

The pleasant Vuma Hills Tented Camp with its 16 elegant tented cottages sits enthroned with its palm roofs above the treetops on a hill embedded in the forests of the Vuma Mountains. The marvelous tents are located on wooden platforms built on stilts.
The safari tents are very tastefully and comfortably furnished and have charming bathrooms with double sinks, beautiful walk-in shower with running hot water (solar powered), comfortable double and single beds, wooden chests, fan, desk, seating and many other amenities.

In the center of the cozy bar area with a wide selection of drinks, wine and spirits, the crackling fireplace exudes authentic safari flair. In the front area you can enjoy the wonderful view of the setting sun in the Mkata plains of the Mikumi from the large terrace with the cozy lounge. With a little luck you can watch Galagos (bush babies) and porcupines from the terrace in the evening.

Of course, for safety reasons, the guests of the Vuma Hills Tented Camp are accompanied by the Maasai guides between the rooms and other areas of the pretty complex after sunset.

The restaurant with its natural high thatched roof and very good cuisine serves varied and delicious 3-course menus that are served by the attentive and friendly staff at the camp.

The refreshing little pool within the beautiful complex completes the Vuma Hills Tented Camp and is the perfect place to cool off and relax after an exciting safari in Mikumi Nationalpark.

Other activities due to the location of the Vuma Hills Tented Camp include trips to the Udzungwa Mountains Nationalpark with its wild, lushly forested mountain slopes and remote hiking trails. The highlight of the Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a visit to the Sanje Waterfalls. Bush breakfasts, sundowners and picnic lunches in the bush can be organized at the guests' request.

The stylish Vuma Hills Tented Camp guarantees a unique nature experience in seclusion with an authentic African safari atmosphere in the Mikumi Nationalpark with its unique landscape of monkey red trees and wide grasslands as well as with its extraordinarily beautiful animal populations.
